Ginger oil is a warming, moving and tonifying essential oil for use in cold, weak and stuck conditions. Ginger oil has been known to be beneficial where levels of vitality are depleted.

The ginger plant is native to coastal regions of India. It is a perennial herb, with a tuberous rhizome root that has been used as a culinary and medicinal herb for thousands of years. Ginger has been grown in the Caribbean since the early sixteenth century and formed an early part of the spice trade to Europe. Most is now grown commercially in West Africa, the Far East and the Caribbean.

Ginger oil has a warm, sweet, pungent, spicy, slightly musky odour. Ginger oil has a base aromatic note and blends well with citrus oils and florals.

Nervous System

Thought to be a tonic to the nervous system, may assist with feelings of emotional connection and warmth, may assist working with introversion and could help to increase vitality and interest. May prove supportive with exhaustion and debility.

 

Muskuloskeletal System

Often called upon for assistance with the musculoskeletal system, could prove beneficial when wrkign with muscular aches, stiffness and muscular fatigue. Could help with sports preparation with its warming and stimulating properties.

 

Digestive System

Can be used supportively with the digestive system, especially useful when feeling nauseous or when experiencing lack of appetite. May prove calming soothing and a tonic to the digestive system.





The following ways to use the essential oil should help you to get the most benefit from the oil. 

 

For use with the Nervous System

Diffuser Method

Add between 3-8 drops (depending on room size) of Ginger essential oil to the surface of the water in your diffuser. Or onto the pad in fan-driven vaporisers. Replenish as needed. May be combined in a blend with other essential oils up to the maximum amount of drops. Blends well with most other essential oils.

 

For use with the Muskuloskeletal system

Warming Body Oil

The musculoskeletal system may benefit from applying a body oil blend including ginger essential oil. This is best applied after body brushing and could encourage a healthy lymphatic system.

Blend ginger essential oil with any other oils of your choice Into 25ml of carrier oil. 

The dilution ratio will be 2-3% (12-15 drops) in 25ml of carrier oil for adults bodily application.

For elderly people, those with sensitive skin, or those with medical conditions a 1% dilution (5 drops) is needed.

 

For use with the digestive system

Warming tummy massage blend

The warming nature of ginger essential oil makes it a prime oil to include in a  stomach massage blend. Not only might the oil be of assistance to the digestive system, but the action of a gentle stomach massage can also have a positive effect on the digestive system also.

Blend giner essential oil and any other digestive oils of your choice Into 25ml of carrier oil. 

The dilution ratio will be a maximum dermal limit of 0.6% (3 drops) in 25ml of carrier oil for adults bodily application.
