How can you incorporate essential oils into your life?

There are countless ways to incorporate essential oils into your World. They can complement many different areas of your life and add greatly to your sense of wellbeing.

It can be a little daunting when you first begin using them, you have a bottle in front of you and wonder how exactly to use it. The aroma is wonderful, but what are the exact methods to benefit from the essential oil?

We wanted to answer these questions for you and help you to start discovering the various methods of application.

Exercise

Essential Oils can be used to complement any exercise routine. They may assist with pre and post workout aches and pains and sports preparation. Energising aromas could help to boost motivation and stamina. Calming aromas are the perfect companion of any wellbeing practice.

Gym

Before heading out to the gym, remember to incorporate one extra step into your routine. This pre and post sports oil is a stimulating blend to warm up cold and stiff joints and invigorate the senses.

50ml Arnica Carrier oil

  • Ginger
  • Peppermint
  • Clove
  • Wintergreen

Combine the essential oils with the carrier oil and shake well. Apply to Joints and any sore areas before and after exercise. Refer to our safety pages and essential oil pages to check for any contraindications before using this recipe.

Work

If you are working from home the diffuser is a great way to complement your work routine. However unless everybody at your place of work agrees, it can be beter to use a more individualised method to benefit from your essential oils at work.

A great way is to make your own aromatherapy rollerball. This can be carried in your bag and used whenever needed. Simply apply to pulse points and breathe in the aroma.

  • 10 ml empty glass rollerball
  • 10 ml rapeseed carrier oil or a suitable alternative
  • Rosemary
  • Spearmint
  • Frankincense

Home

One of the simplest and most effective ways to use essential oils in aromatherapy is by diffusing them. Just simply add 4-6 drops of you favourite essential oil to the water in your diffuser and sit back and relax. Avoid diffusing continuously and the intermittent diffusion technique with 1 hour diffusing and 1 hour break, will ensure you always get the most out of the essential oils without overloading.

Travelling

Carrying a rollerball filled with your favourite essential oil always comes in handy. Do you get travel sickness? Why not try travelling with peppermint next time!
